Dialogue The ProMICAD System for Empowerment is a cutting-edge system, using state of the art concepts to encourage positive dialogue between counsellor and client. The program is user-friendly and can be applied by counsellors with people at all levels of ability and education. A remarkable feature of the programme is the speed with which it acts as an ice-breaker, opening up positive discussion on deep issues in minutes and without trauma.

ProMICAD has three operating levels -
Level 1 - the language is 'basic' English, suitable for most 13 to 16 year olds
Level 2 - the language is GCSE standard
Level 3 - suitable for A level or degree level users Group profile readings

The system can be useful in small groups. Group members often call out their approval of the contents of profiles as they appear on the screen, powerfully reinforcing the confidence and self-esteem of the person being described. Clients with low self-esteem will sometimes perceive certain statements in the report as flattery and for reasons of modesty reject them, failing to recognise such qualities in themselves. Here again, is another opportunity to get to know the client better by discussing the offending statements. It can help to bring into the discussion someone who knows the client well. The friend or colleague is likely to boost morale by convincing the client that the 'offending' statements are indeed accurate.
